The team at CMe Media and CMe Automotive swapped campaign plans for mixing bowls and baking trays, and together we raised an amazing £227.08 for Breast Cancer Now at our charity bake sale.
On Thursday 22nd October 2026, we hosted the bake sale at Fareham Innovation Centre in Lee-on-the-Solent, bringing our team together with neighbouring Hampshire businesses to raise money for a cause that means a great deal to us.
Our bakers filled the counter with homemade cakes, brownies, sausage rolls and savoury treats, which we then sold to the other businesses at the Innovation Centre. Thanks to plenty of support from our neighbours, there was very little left by the end of the day.
The CMe Team Puts Its Baking Skills to the Test
It’s safe to say the CMe team took the challenge seriously, and a little friendly rivalry over whose bakes would sell first only raised the standard.
Mike, our Head of Group Strategy and Operations, kicked things off with not one but two kinds of homemade sausage roll: traditional pork, and cheese and onion. Anthony, our PPC Client Manager, added some lovely cheese straw twists, so there were plenty of savoury options alongside the cakes.
For those with a sweet tooth, Ray, our SEO and Marketing Specialist, made a delicious cheesecake, while Denise, our Office Manager, created a beautiful red velvet cake. A classic banana bread went down a treat too.
Things got competitive in the brownie department, with Karis, our work experience graduate, and Charisse, our CEO, both bringing in their own batch. Naturally, both bakers were keen to see whose brownies would prove the most popular!
Petar, our Paid Client Manager, even roped his fiancée into helping, and the result was a batch of stunning cupcakes that looked almost too good to eat.
With such an impressive spread, it’s no surprise that hardly anything was left by the end of the day. But beyond the delicious food, the most important part was coming together to raise money for Breast Cancer Now.
Why Breast Cancer Now Is a Cause Close to Our Hearts
Supporting Breast Cancer Now is particularly meaningful for our founder and CEO, Charisse, whose family has been personally affected by breast cancer.
Having lost several family members to the disease, Charisse knows first-hand how devastating breast cancer can be for those affected and their loved ones.
Her mum, Belinda, who is also our Finance Director, was diagnosed with breast cancer just a few years before Charisse founded the business. Facing the possibility of losing her mum was an incredibly difficult experience, and one that has stayed with her. It’s also one of the reasons Charisse values having Belinda working closely alongside her in the business today.
For Charisse and her family, supporting breast cancer charities is about much more than fundraising. It’s a cause with real personal significance, and this isn’t the first time CMe Media has raised money for breast cancer charities.
Breast Cancer Now is a UK charity dedicated to funding vital breast cancer research and providing information and support to people affected by the disease. We’re proud to play a small part in its important work.
Supporting Our Local Hampshire Business Community
At CMe Media and CMe Automotive, giving back to charities and supporting our local community is something we’ve always valued.
Our two brands specialise in different areas of marketing, but we’re one team, and we’re lucky to have people who really get behind events like this. Whether it’s baking, organising or encouraging others to donate, everyone is always willing to get involved.
Being based at Fareham Innovation Centre in Lee-on-the-Solent also means we’re surrounded by a fantastic community of local businesses, and the bake sale was a lovely way to bring everyone together for an important cause.
A huge thank you to everyone who baked, helped organise the event or contributed treats, and to all the neighbouring businesses who stopped by to buy a cake or make a donation. Thanks to your generosity, we raised a fantastic £227.08 for Breast Cancer Now!
There's Still Time to Donate to Breast Cancer Now
The cakes may all have been eaten, but there’s still time to support our fundraising. If you’d like to donate to Breast Cancer Now, you can do so through our JustGiving page. Every donation, big or small, helps support the charity’s vital work.
Thank you again to everyone who baked, donated and supported us. We’re so pleased to have raised £227.08 for a cause that means so much to our team.
See you next year for more bakes, a little more friendly competition and, hopefully, even more money raised for charity!
