Barbados Island Properties: a brand refresh and website design to be proud of

A website should feel like a natural extension of your business. For Barbados Island Properties, getting that visual identity right was an important part of creating a website the team could confidently share with customers.

CMe Media worked closely with the team to refresh their branding, explore new creative directions and design their website. Working alongside an external website developer, we helped take the project from an initial conversation through to launch, keeping the client involved throughout.

The result? A website they were proud to put their name to.

Understanding the brief

Barbados Island Properties came to us having worked with another provider, but the visual direction had not quite matched their expectations.

We arranged a call with the team to take a brief and understand how they wanted the business to look and feel. This gave them the opportunity to explain what they were looking for and gave our designers a clearer foundation for the creative work.

For a business offering property sales, holiday rentals and long-term rentals, the website has several audiences to serve. The design needed to bring those services together under a consistent visual identity.

Exploring colours, fonts and layouts

With the brief in place, our design team developed several creative concepts, experimenting with different colours, fonts and layouts.

Presenting a choice of visual directions made the discussion more tangible. The client could compare approaches, identify the elements they liked and explain what felt most appropriate for their business.

Alongside the website concepts, we carried out a small brand refresh, refining the existing logo to make it better suited to its intended use. This helped establish a consistent starting point for the wider website design.

Bringing the client’s favourite elements together

When we presented the concepts, the Barbados Island Properties team picked out their favourite elements from each.

That feedback helped us shape the final direction. We brought their preferred elements together, refining them into a cohesive design rather than treating each choice in isolation.

We then presented the combined concept for further review. This collaborative process allowed the client to play an active part in the design, with our team guiding how the colours, typography and layouts worked together.

Turning the creative direction into a website

Once the visual direction was agreed, our in-house designer worked on the website wireframe.

A wireframe maps out the structure and layout of a website, showing how its content and key sections will fit together. This stage helped move the project from creative concepts into a practical plan for the website build.

CMe Media led the design work and collaborated with an external website developer to bring it to life. Maintaining communication between design and development helped carry the agreed creative direction through into the finished website.

Keeping communication at the heart of the project

Throughout the project, we stayed in regular contact with the Barbados Island Properties team.

Check-in meetings created opportunities to review progress, discuss feedback and agree the next steps. They also helped ensure the client remained involved as the project moved from initial concepts to the website build.

That ongoing conversation was an important part of the working relationship. Design decisions were developed together, with space to ask questions and refine the details along the way.

From soft launch to full launch

The website initially went live through a soft launch, allowing time for final reviews and refinements before the full launch.

This phased approach gave the teams an opportunity to work through the finishing touches and make sure everyone was happy before introducing the website more widely.

The live Barbados Island Properties website brings together property sales, holiday rentals and long-term rentals, with dedicated search options and collections for visitors to explore.

The result: a website the client is proud of

The project delivered a refreshed visual identity and a new website design shaped through close collaboration with the client.

For us, the team’s feedback captures what that process achieved:

“Many thanks for everything, we are so pleased we made the leap and moved everything to you guys… We are so proud of the web site.”
