CMe Media’s Charity Bake Sale: Supporting Breast Cancer Now

On Friday, 18th October, the CMe Media team came together at the Fareham Innovation Centre for a fun-filled and heartwarming charity bake sale in support of Breast Cancer Now’s Wear It Pink campaign. It was an opportunity for our team not only to show off their baking skills but also to raise money for life-saving breast cancer research.

A Delicious Spread for a Great Cause

The bake sale featured a fantastic array of sweet and savoury treats, all homemade by the team. The bake sale was buzzing with excitement as colleagues and visitors gathered to sample the delicious creations. Among the stand-out bakes were:

  • Marc’s Victoria sponge – a perfectly balanced classic with a fluffy sponge and jammy centre.

  • Laura’s chocolate cake – rich, moist, and generously topped with chocolate ganache.

  • Jack’s sausage rolls – a savoury delight that offered a nice contrast to the sweet options.

  • Mal’s cheesecake – creamy, indulgent, and the perfect way to round off the spread.

Each item came with a suggested donation, and many people generously gave beyond the asking price, knowing that the funds were going toward an incredible cause.

Fundraising Success

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended and participated, we are thrilled to announce that we raised an amazing £XXX! Every penny will go directly to Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s largest breast cancer charity, to fund critical research and provide much-needed support for those affected by breast cancer.

Why We Chose Breast Cancer Now

Breast cancer is the most common cancer in the UK, with 1 in 7 women diagnosed in their lifetime. Many of us at CMe Media have friends, family members, or colleagues who have been affected by this disease. By supporting Breast Cancer Now, we’re helping fund research that could bring us closer to a future where everyone diagnosed with breast cancer lives, and no life is cut short by the disease.

The Wear It Pink campaign, held every October as part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, encourages individuals, groups, and businesses to wear pink and raise money for vital research. It’s an easy and fun way to support a serious cause, and we were excited to get involved this year by hosting our bake sale.

Our bake sale wasn’t just about raising money—it was also about coming together as a team and as a community to make a positive impact. There’s something special about the power of food to bring people together, and we’re so grateful to everyone who baked, bought, or simply showed up in support.

A Huge Thank You

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to everyone who participated in our bake sale. Whether you baked a treat, donated, or just stopped by to show your support, you’ve helped make a difference in the fight against breast cancer. Every little bit helps, and we couldn’t be prouder of the efforts of our team and the generosity of our friends and visitors at the Fareham Innovation Centre.

Looking Ahead

This was just one of the many fundraising events we plan to hold in support of important causes. We’re committed to making a positive impact in our community and beyond, and we can’t wait to see what we can achieve together in the future. Stay tuned for more exciting events from CMe Media!

In the meantime, don’t forget to mark your calendars for Wear It Pink next October! Whether it’s a bake sale, a fun run, or simply wearing your favourite pink shirt, there are so many ways to get involved and help fund life-changing research.

Together, we can support Breast Cancer Now in its mission to ensure that by 2050, everyone diagnosed with breast cancer will live—and live well.
